This headline from the Wall Street Journal says it well…”Naive Inventors Fall For Optimistic Pitches Marketers Make. Firms Praise Inventions, Get Paid, Then Do Little To Get It Marketed.”

These so called “invention marketers” all operate the same way. They ask you to sketch your invention and send it to them. Then you’ll hear that their initial review indicates the idea has great potential. Of course, that’s music to any inventor’s ears.

But it’s also the way these scams get into the inventor’s heart – and bank account! Next they strongly urge a patent search and market evaluation. The fee for that step depends on what they feel “the traffic will bear” – usually $500 to $1,500.

Soon after paying that fee, an “evaluation” will come back in an impressive looking binder confirming that there is a global market waiting for your invention…it is a sure winner! (These crooks have never seen an idea that wasn’t a winner – for them!)

The inventor, now convinced of the opportunity for fame and fortune, is easy prey for the next step: A patent and marketing contract costing from $6,000 to $20,000. Each year thousands of inventors take the bait…hook, line and sinker!

Inventors instinctively think they should somehow make and market their invention themselves. Why not? That way they get to keep all the profit, right? But the typical inventor knows little about manufacturing, has never launched a new product, and has no experience in marketing and sales!

Now consider the fact that a large manufacturer, capable of producing an inventor’s idea for a new product, can do all these things an inventor cannot. They already have a marketing distribution network in place which would take even the most aggressive inventor years to build. They can plug a new product into that network and achieve world-wide sales almost immediately!

The benefits of licensing inventions to qualified manufacturers can be enormous. About the only stress the inventor has is the decision of when to go to the bank with a royalty check. Make and market your idea yourself and you spend thousands for a patent, wait 3-5 years for it to issue, and then endure all the day-to-day stress of running a business and hope to make a profit. There’s no comparison! Not convinced? Think about it this way:

A small percentage on the huge sales of a large company will be a lot more money than all the profits (if any) on small sales as the inventor struggles to build a viable business!

The INVENTASSIST Program is purposely meant to help inventors protect and profit from their ideas and inventions. Learn more about our The Complete Program from INVENTASSIST today.

This question, which is asked by most inventors when they call us, immediately indicates at least two things…they either don’t know that a patent costs thousands or they don’t know there’s another way to protect inventions under the patent law, but without a patent. And this is only the “tip of the iceberg” of a quagmire of information and misinformation facing inventors. (Our Inventor’s IntroPac will help you understand your options and avoid the pitfalls.)

The excitement inventors experience when they first think of their idea for a new product is quickly dampened by realities. The cost of a patent – often more than $20,000 – is just one of those realities, as is the 3-5 years it takes for a patent to issue. Quite obviously typical inventors lack research capabilities to determine if their invention is commercially viable; the resources needed to manufacture and launch a new product; or the experience needed to manage a company with and all that involves.

For these reasons – and many more – we strongly discourage inventors from trying to get a patent, encouraging them instead to learn the very simple invention protection method all product-based companies use. Our INVENTASSIST PROGRAM teaches that method and provides a step-by-step guide for inventors leading to success in protection of ideas and inventions and profiting from them – a process that can take only a few weeks and gives you a real chance to discover a gold nugget rather than fool’s gold!

Until that time when Bernard D. Shadow invented the “rolling suitcase”, the small fold-up rolling cart was all the rage in the 1960′s. Shop were selling the carts like hotcakes as more and more Americans began to fly.

The ubiquitous rollaboard was invented by Robert Plath, a Northwest Airlines pilot and initially marketed them to fellow crew members. Plath took his idea, a product that rolled upright rather than being towed or pushed, and started Travelpro, now a major luggage company.

Your simple idea and obvious invention may stand an equal chance. The key to your success is protecting your idea by properly documenting your efforts, product marketability and manufacturing. The Invent Assist program provides you all of the information you need without needing to spend thousands on patent attorneys and years of waiting before your idea can be validated and you begin to earn money.

Find out what many others have learned, spend as little as $20 to find out the beginnings of what you need to know without revealing your secret idea and invention. Learn more about the Invent Assist Program and IntroPac, you’ll be glad you saved money and protected you idea like thousands of other inventors.

Did you know that large companies do not immediately file for patents when new product ideas are developed? They take advantage of a little known provision of the patent law to establish pre-patent protection.

The good news: You can use that same provision to protect your ideas! This is it … the U.S. Patent Law protects the first to invent – NOT the first to file for a patent. As opposed to the very costly and time-consuming patent process, “first to invent” protection is easily and inexpensively established. It is done through documentation of your idea (much like keeping a diary) in a specially constructed logbook. Companies call them “laboratory notebooks” and they’ve used them to protect ideas since the patent law was established in 1790; but you have to do it right for your ownership to be validly demonstrated.
